Tick Boot Camp’s guest today is Vanessa Laporte. Ms. Laporte is a 30-year-old customer service and accounts manager from Vancouver, Canada. She was bitten by a tick in 2011 and developed a bullseye rash, but doctors didn’t know what caused it. Ms. Laporte started to develop the symptoms of a tick disease. In 2015, after having a breast augmentation, her symptoms spiraled out of control. She lost feeling in her hands and feet. Two years later, she was in a wheelchair. Ms. Laporte saw over 30 doctors before she received a Lyme diagnosis.
