Ms. Ward was an elite swimmer training for the London 2012 Olympics when she first started to experience the symptoms of a tick disease. She had extreme weight loss, gut issues, burning at the soles of her feet, and a low core body temperature. Doctors told her she was anorexic and depressed. After five years, Ms. Ward finally tested positive for Lyme disease. She has focused her healing around gut health.
